Plant Manager
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager to oversee operations at their heavy equipment manufacturing site. This role requires a hands-on leader with a proven track record in managing large-scale production environments, leading teams of 100 or more employees, and driving P&L results exceeding $50M (preferably $100M+). The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, operational expertise, and a strong background in managing heavy machinery manufacturing processes. Plant Manager Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day plant operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies that meet production goals, enhance competitiveness, and improve margins.
- Provide strategic direction for manufacturing and assembly processes, focusing on heavy machinery production.
- Oversee P&L management for the plant, with a focus on maintaining and exceeding $50M in revenues.
- Apply industry-standard improvement techniques and Lean methodologies to drive operational excellence and sustainable growth.
- Proactively identify and resolve production challenges to maintain seamless operations.
- Collaborate with supply chain and purchasing teams to optimize resource allocation and cost efficiency.
- Prepare and manage plant budgets, conduct gap analyses, and implement corrective actions to meet financial targets.
- Uphold safety, health, and environmental standards, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
- Partner with Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams to support product development initiatives.
- Lead talent acquisition, training, and team development to build an effective, diverse workforce.
- Promote positive employee relations, trust, and engagement across all levels of the organization.
Plant Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
- 5–7 years of experience managing plant operations, with direct oversight of 100 or more employees.
- Demonstrated experience in P&L management for facilities exceeding $50M in annual revenue (preferably $100M+).
- Strong background in heavy equipment manufacturing (non-food, grain, or beer sectors).
- Proficient in ERP systems; JD Edwards experience is a plus.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to engage, motivate, and develop teams.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with a focus on achieving results.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Willingness to work full-time onsite in Portland, Oregon, with occasional weekend shifts or overtime as needed.
- Flexibility for limited travel (5-10%, including international travel).
Salary: 155k-$160k/year + Monthly Bonus Potential. (DOE)
