Pharmacy Technician
We are seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our client's Pharmacy Services Department. This role is pivotal in coordinating pharmacy and benefit operations, supporting both the health plan and pharmacy networks. The technician will interact with various healthcare providers, regulatory entities, and patients to facilitate effective medication management and ensure compliance with pharmacy policies.

This position is onsite in Beaverton, OR.

Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities
Determine and assign appropriate coding for services, diagnoses, and procedures using ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding systems.
Provide technical assistance and coding support to Clinic staff.
Coordinate and process pharmacy prior authorizations while considering benefits, medication policies, and technician approval criteria.
Maintain pharmacy benefit member eligibility review processes and manage daily claims transactions through the Argus Health System.
Handle incoming calls and requests, triaging and documenting as necessary, and ensuring urgent matters receive prompt attention.
Perform data entry for authorization requests, patient information, and medication therapy management, ensuring database accuracy and integrity.
Serve as a liaison among healthcare providers, members, and internal teams to resolve issues and facilitate communication.
Monitor for compliance with Oregon and Federal pharmacy laws, HIPAA guidelines, and report any discrepancies or concerns.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the Pharmacy Services Department.

Pharmacy Technician Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a managed care environment or 3 years in an outpatient pharmacy setting.
Proficient understanding of medical terminology, HCPCS, CPT, and ICD-9 coding applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with providers and internal staff.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Solid analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations.
Familiarity with pharmacy computer systems, including Argus and Microsoft Office applications.
National Pharmacy Technician Certification required within one year of employment.
Patient Population Served: This position requires competency in interacting with a diverse patient population, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Understanding the developmental and treatment needs of each demographic is essential.

Licenses and Certifications
Licensure in Oregon as a Pharmacy Technician is required upon employment.
National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician must be obtained within one year.

Compensation: $20-$29/hr. (DOE)
