Controller
We are working with a successful and stable Portland company who has an exciting opening for a Controller to join their team. This role reports to the company President and is the top finance position, as well as a member of the Senior leadership team with full ownership of the company’s financials and accounting team.
This is a hybrid role requiring 1-2 days a week onsite in Tualatin, Oregon.
Controller Responsibilities
- Full ownership of daily financial operations for the company and annual budgeting process.
- Hands-on support for period-end close (journal entries, account reconciliations, GL).
- Period-end financial statements (balance sheets, P&L income statement, and cash flow statement) and reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Preparation of PowerPoints, monthly presentations, and translating financial statements, P&L, cash flow, and budget to actuals to leadership.
- Oversee accounting, payroll, and billing functions and review 5 members’ work (GL, AP/AR, invoicing, payroll).
- Prepare and continually monitor budgets and weekly cash forecasting.
- Variance analysis on monthly company performance and budget vs actual.
- Responsible for annual tax filings.
- Strategy advisory for executive management and ad-hoc analysis as requested.
- Main point of contact for the external audit committee and continuous development of internal controls.
- Main point of contact for banks and manage lines of credit.
Controller Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field; Master’s Degree, CPA, or CMA a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in a related role with full oversight of a company’s financials, accounting, reporting, and analysis.
- Must have prior supervisory experience.
- Proficiency with ERP Systems and advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Exceptional presentation, communication, and leadership skills.
Salary: $110k-$140k + Bonus (DOE)
