Purchasing Manager
Our food manufacturing client is seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to lead their procurement operations, drive cost efficiencies, and ensure a seamless supply chain. This pivotal role involves managing supplier relationships, optimizing procurement strategies, and maintaining compliance while upholding the highest standards of quality and cost-effectiveness.

This role is onsite in McMinnville, Oregon.

Purchasing Manager Responsibilities

• Oversee supplier management, contracts, and supplier performance. 
• Develop and execute procurement strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline procurement processes.
• Oversee the day-to-day activities of the procurement team including supervising direct reports. 
• Forecast demand for raw materials and supplies, track market trends and pricing fluctuations to mitigate risks and optimize costs.
• Ensure timely purchasing of materials in accordance with production plans.
• Create and manage procurement budgets and implement strategic cost-saving measures. 
• Ensure all procured materials meet regulatory and quality compliance standards.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through strategic planning and supplier diversification.

Purchasing Manager Qualifications

• Must have prior supervisory experience in a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and quality standards.
• At least 1 year of SAP experience and proficiency procurement tools/software.
• Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to foster strong supplier relationships.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead teams effectively.

Compensation: $100k-$120k (DOE)
