Purchasing Manager
Our food manufacturing client is seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to lead their procurement operations, drive cost efficiencies, and ensure a seamless supply chain. This pivotal role involves managing supplier relationships, optimizing procurement strategies, and maintaining compliance while upholding the highest standards of quality and cost-effectiveness.
This role is onsite in McMinnville, Oregon.
Purchasing Manager Responsibilities
- Oversee supplier management, contracts, and supplier performance.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline procurement processes.
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the procurement team including supervising direct reports.
- Forecast demand for raw materials and supplies, track market trends and pricing fluctuations to mitigate risks and optimize costs.
- Ensure timely purchasing of materials in accordance with production plans.
- Create and manage procurement budgets and implement strategic cost-saving measures.
- Ensure all procured materials meet regulatory and quality compliance standards.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through strategic planning and supplier diversification.
Purchasing Manager Qualifications
- Must have prior supervisory experience in a similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and quality standards.
- At least 1 year of SAP experience and proficiency procurement tools/software.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to foster strong supplier relationships.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead teams effectively.
Compensation: $100k-$120k (DOE)
