Senior Engineer II – Substation Design
We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Substation Engineer with at least 10 years of hands-on substation design experience, preferably in a utility environment, though candidates with consultant experience will also be considered. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred. If applicable, please provide your PE license number and the state in which it was obtained upon submission.

The Senior Substation Engineer will provide comprehensive engineering design services for substation facilities. This role ensures that projects are completed on schedule and within allocated resources, while offering leadership and technical oversight throughout all phases. The position involves mentoring engineers and technicians, working closely with managers and principal engineers on high-level projects, and driving continuous improvement across the organization.

This position is onsite in Las Vegas, NV.

Senior Engineer II – Substation Design Responsibilities
Develop reliable, cost-effective, and technically feasible substation physical and control designs with minimal supervision.
Provide technical management for multiple substation projects, including prioritization and collaboration with internal and external teams (25%).
Ensure quality control on assigned projects, including construction support, coordination with construction teams, and site inspections (25%).
Coordinate procurement tasks and communication with other departments with minimal supervision (15%).
Assist and guide departments in resolving non-standard substation design challenges (15%).
Provide accurate cost estimates for budgeting and cash flow requirements (10%).
Contribute to the development of detailed project schedules and update project management systems to track project status (10%).
Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, codes, and regulations and maintain adherence to company standards.
Perform other related duties as required.

Senior Engineer II – Substation Design Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
At least 8 years of industry experience as a practicing engineer and a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license. If no PE license, at least 10 years of experience in substation engineering.
Experience with substation/control engineering principles and a strong understanding of other engineering disciplines.
Knowledge of cost control, budgeting, finance, and accounting, with technical experience in cost analysis.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills for collaborating with team members, customers, and regulatory agencies.
Demonstrated leadership, project management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.

Salary: $130-$138K (DOE)
