Senior Regulatory Accountant (HYBRID)
Our Portland client seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Regulatory Accountant to support their team. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of implementing new accounting practices, with a deep understanding of GAAP and regulatory accounting.
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days a week onsite in Portland, Oregon.
Senior Regulatory Accountant Responsibilities
- Support state regulatory filings and rate case strategies, including preparation of accounting information for filings and data requests.
- Coordinate and prepare federal filings and other regulatory filings for state commissions.
- Research and document compliance and GAAP accounting issues, ensuring proper application and reconciliation of regulatory findings to GAAP differences.
- Assist with implementing new regulatory accounting guidance and manage account mapping and SAP report creation.
- Participate in monthly accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, SOX controls, and audit support.
Senior Regulatory Accountant Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
- 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a regulated industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and ability to apply complex financial/regulatory concepts.
- ERP systems proficiency (SAP or similar) and intermediate Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience in writing and presenting technical information clearly.
- Collaborative with strong project coordination and time management skills.
Compensation: $90k-$130k (DOE) + Bonus
