Human Resources and Talent Acquisition Assistant
Our client seeks a Human Resources and Talent Acquisition Assistant to provide essential support in recruiting, onboarding, and HR administration. This role will assist in managing job postings, coordinating interviews, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with HR policies. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting a strong workforce for public service.
Human Resources and Talent Acquisition Assistant Responsibilities
- Provide recruiting and onboarding support.
- Assist in posting job openings on various platforms and distributing them to relevant networks.
- Coordinate candidate communications, including scheduling interviews, sending follow-ups, and conducting reference checks.
- Support the onboarding process, including preparing new hire paperwork, setting up orientation sessions, and ensuring compliance with employment regulations.
- Maintain and update applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment records.
- Maintain employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support HR staff in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Provide administrative support for performance review cycles and employee engagement initiatives.
- Assist in drafting and distributing HR-related communications, policies, and reports.
Human Resources and Talent Acquisition Assistant Qualifications
- 1-3 years of HR experience, or in an administrative role with HR exposure (Recruiting Coordinator, Recruiting Assistant, etc.).
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Exposure to HR software, ATS, or payroll systems preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Familiarity with Oregon labor laws and public sector HR practices.
- Experience working in a government, utility, or water district environment.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
Compensation: $32-$34/hr. (DOE)
