Accounts Receivable / Billing Specialist
Our industry leading client, headquartered in Portland, Oregon, seeks a customer-focused Accounts Receivable / Billing Specialist to join their team! This is a client-facing role requiring strong team-collaboration and problem-solving skills to best support client needs.
This is a fully remote role.
Accounts Receivable / Billing Specialist Responsibilities
- Monitor, process, and document transactions such as suspense, adjustments, premium receipts, invoicing, and delinquency requests, ensuring accurate premium processing and reporting.
- Lead the delinquency process, manage customer interactions, and collaborate with other business areas to ensure proper billing and fee disclosures.
- Draft legally defensible contract amendments across all states, ensuring alignment with customer intentions and policy provisions.
- Communicate sensitive contractual and billing information clearly to employers, producers, and staff while adhering to GAAP, federal regulations, and policy provisions.
- Collaborate within the evolving Policy Administration System (PAS) program, suggesting improvements, and utilizing intermediate Excel skills for data manipulation, reformatting, and customer uploads.
Accounts Receivable / Billing Specialist Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in group employee benefits administration, complex billing, and/or premium management.
- Strong understanding of group benefits products, plan provisions, rate structures, premium calculations, and delinquency processing.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (Vlookups) and able to learn new processes quickly.
- Collaborative and customer-service focused with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to solve complex problems and make decisions.
Salary: $18-$19/hr. (DOE)
