ARM Architect
Our client is seeking an ARM Architect to lead the development and enhancement of firmware architecture for ARM-based devices. The ideal candidate will be adept at building firmware solutions, managing technical relationships, and guiding engineering teams towards innovative and efficient firmware implementations. This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge firmware projects within a dynamic, technology-focused environment.

This role is open to candidates residing in Beaverton, Oregon,  Redmond, Washington, or Campbell, Washington. Candidates will be required to travel to Taipei and Campbell, Washington as required.

ARM Architect Responsibilities

  • Building a firmware architecture for Arm based devices.
  • Creating value-add features on top of existing firmware solutions from SoC vendors and internal UEFI code.
  • Leading the technical discussion with internal and external parties. 
  • Leading the development team to create and fulfill Proof of Concept projects in an architectural way.
  • Tracking various bootloader firmware such as U-Boot and core-boot, as Arm firmware solutions also cover BSP support.
  • Supporting service team to customize the desired changes from OEM/ODM in an organized way. 
  • Supporting development related functions to help with creating and reviewing internal and external technical and marketing documents.
  • Conducting training, participating in external forums, and building/maintaining technical relationships with key partners including Arm and SoC vendors for new technologies and initiatives.
  • Help with management teams for light-weight supervision and project management when needed.

ARM Architect Qualifications

  • Real project experience working with multiple Arm SoCs from various vendors, including Arm-based client and server SoC firmware.
  • Real firmware project experience on both UEFI and traditional boot loaders such as U-Boot and coreboot with Arm based platforms; project experience on x86 is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of ATF (Arm Trusted Firmware or Trusted Firmware-A profile TFA) architecture is a must; real firmware experience (implementation, debug or validation) on ATF is highly desirable, including TrustZone and/or PSCI.
  • Familiar with modern Arm platform boot process, RoT (Root of Trust), Secure Boot concepts and Secure Firmware Updates.
  • Solid understanding of Arm PSR (Platform security requirements), BOOT_PSG (Platform Security Boot Guidance), BBR (Based Boot Requirement), SBBR (Server BBR) and Arm System Ready.
  • Regular travel to Taipei and Campbell is required.
