Billing / Collections Specialist (Healthcare)
Our well-established healthcare client seeks a reliable Billing / Collections Specialist to support their team! The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of managed care contracts, insurance payment principles, and healthcare billing codes. If you’re a proactive communicator, skilled in problem-solving, and can manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality, we’d love to hear from you!

Billing / Collections Specialist Responsibilities

• Maintain a portfolio of accounts, meeting daily productivity standards while ensuring accurate documentation.
• Process underpayments, perform appeals, and address claim denials in a timely manner.
• Resolve billing issues through follow-up with insurance companies, patients, and third-party payers.
• Analyze and audit accounts for correct reimbursement and contractual allowances.
• Safeguard patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies.

Billing / Collections Specialist Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of experience in hospital collections or a similar healthcare billing role.
• Knowledge of CMS regulations, insurance billing rules, and managed care contracts.
• Proficiency in HCPCS, CPT, ICD9/ICD10 codes, and the use of relevant hospital systems.
• Strong data entry and 10-key skills with attention to detail/accuracy.
• Customer service focused with the ability to handle sensitive patient and payer information.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to quickly learn new processes.

Compensation: $26/hr. (DOE)
