Biomechanics Researcher
Our client is seeking a hands-on Biomechanics Researcher to join their Sport Research Lab team. This role will focus on conducting in-lab biomechanics research and providing guidance in product development for a high-priority footwear project. The ideal candidate will have experience in biomechanics, robotics/mechatronics, and will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with athletes and human test participants. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative products at the intersection of sport, biomechanics, and technology.

This role is onsite in Beaverton, Oregon.

Biomechanics Researcher Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-lab biomechanics research and data collection using specialized tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with the Principal Researcher and research team to execute experiments in line with research plans and objectives.
  • Provide biomechanical insights and guidance to support product development and innovation.
  • Work with human test participants, including athletes, to gather quality data for research purposes.
  • Operate and troubleshoot unfamiliar data collection tools, electronics, and biomechanical hardware.
  • Analyze and summarize data to communicate findings effectively to research colleagues.
  • Develop and optimize tools, methods, and procedures to enhance research processes.

Biomechanics Researcher Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (in Biomechanics, Engineering, Kinesiology, or related field).
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in biomechanics or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with biomechanical data collection tools in a laboratory or field setting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Positive attitude, resilience, and a bias toward action when facing challenges.
  • Experience with robotics or mechatronics is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in biomechanical data analysis software such as Python, Matlab, R, or Visual 3D is a plus.

Compensation: $33.33/hr. (DOE)
