Data Governance Analyst
The Data Governance Analyst works within the Data Governance team where our passion for accurate and actionable data enables the company to make smart decisions to mitigate risk and add process defining value. The Data Governance Analyst will work closely with the Data Governance Senior Manager to drive change in a data rich environment through analyzing the integrity, efficiency and availability of data. You will work alongside data owners, data stewards, and business stakeholders to provide support whilst creating and maintaining policies, standards, and the implementation of non-invasive data governance through Microsoft Purview.

This is a remote position, candidates must reside 50 miles within New York, Kansas City, Beaverton or Phoenix.

Data Governance Analyst Responsibilities 
25% – Support the implementation of non-invasive data governance through the use of Microsoft Purview as the unified data governance solution.
20% – Develop and foster relationships with a broad range of business partners to understand current and anticipated future business needs regarding data and data governance.
20% – Participate in analyzing, planning, development and/or implementation through the following:
Clarification and/or implementation of technical or business requirements.
Data governance policy creation, management, and analyzing potential impacts of policy choices under consideration.
15% – Serve as a liaison between functional and technology teams to ensure a common understanding about business data, including who owns data, what data means, where to find data, when data is available, and how data can be used.
10% – Coordinate and monitor data standardization efforts and compliance, identifying data/process gaps and working with business process owners and technology teams to resolve discrepancies.
5% – Research and development of new data governance best practices and implementation strategies.
5% – Provide data governance expertise in potentially complex areas and data-intensive projects.

Data Governance Analyst Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is, strongly preferred.
Minimum 5+ years' experience in data governance, data management, data engineering, business intelligence, data quality, and/or related fields.
Knowledge of data-related government regulatory requirements, privacy and security best practices, and data lifecycle/retention policies and practices.
Passionate about the benefits of accurate and actionable data, you drive consistency and enjoy partnering with others to accomplish the task.
Knowledgeable and experienced with data management processes, reference data, policy creation, data stewardship, and technologies.
Demonstrates the ability to translate business issues and requirements into actionable plans, and to deliver against those plans.
Experience with Microsoft Purview is critical to success in this role.
Intermediate level knowledge and experience working with SQL Server and/or in the development of T-SQL code highly desired.
Excellent project planning, organizational, and analytical skills – is self-motivated, delivering results with minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven track record of achieving consensus and buy-in through education, facilitation, persuasion, and leading by example.
Thinks strategically, with an equal focus on delivering to both short- and long-term business objectives.

Salary: $40-$50/hr. (DOE)
