Maintenance Technician
Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their dynamic team at a leading manufacturing facility. This hands-on role involves a combination of industrial and facilities maintenance tasks, ensuring smooth production operations and efficient facility management. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise and adaptability to handle diverse maintenance responsibilities. The Maintenance Technician is critical to minimizing downtime, troubleshooting advanced systems, and maintaining essential equipment.
This position is onsite in McMinnville, Oregon. Candidates must be flexible with their working hours, as overtime is expected to support the short-handed maintenance team.
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities
- Perform installations, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of production and facility equipment, fixtures, and systems.
- Address mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance needs to support production operations.
- Conduct routine inspections, scheduled maintenance, and emergency repairs to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC systems, AC/DC motor controls, and other advanced electrical systems.
- Execute maintenance projects related to plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and building and grounds upkeep.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for required tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to safety regulations and company standards.
- Work collaboratively with production, mechanical, and facilities teams to address maintenance concerns promptly.
- Operate and maintain tools, including hand tools, power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
Maintenance Technician Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment. Candidates with facilities or industrial manufacturing experience will also be considered.
- Proven expertise in mechanical troubleshooting, electrical repairs, hydraulics, and working with foreign (European) machinery.
- Hands-on experience with facility systems, including plumbing, HVAC, and building maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose and repair advanced systems, including PLC controls and motor systems.
- Proficiency in basic math, Office 365 applications, and familiarity with maintenance software (preferred).
- Must provide personal tools for basic maintenance tasks (replacement for breakage is provided).
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting. Training, manuals, and other material will be provided in English
- Flexible availability to work day or night shifts, including overtime, as required by production demands.
Compensation: Starting at $28.88/hr. (DOE)
