Mechanical Designer
Our client is seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join their growing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of mechanical systems for a variety of building types, including educational, residential, commercial, and light industrial projects. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong communication skills and a consultative mindset.
Mechanical Designer Responsibilities
- Develop and design HVAC and plumbing systems for various building projects, including schools, apartments, offices, retail spaces, and manufacturing facilities.
- Conduct load calculations, duct and pipe sizing, and equipment selection processes to meet project specifications.
- Prepare construction drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and collaborate with team members to apply Revit software.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, such as the International Mechanical Code and Uniform Plumbing Code.
- Participate in the development of green building designs, supporting certifications like LEED or other sustainability standards.
- Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and clients to deliver accurate and timely design solutions.
- Assist in cost estimation, energy efficiency analysis, and system troubleshooting as needed.
- Take an active role in QA/QC processes, ensuring precision and consistency across deliverables.
Mechanical Designer Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 1-5 years of experience designing mechanical systems for buildings or similar structures.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD with familiarity in Revit software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Knowledge of construction practices and mechanical system installation.
Preferred:
- Experience working on projects such as schools, multifamily housing, office buildings, or similar structures.
- Understanding of green building practices, such as LEED or Green Globes.
- Familiarity with fire protection systems and precise environmental controls.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to engage directly with clients.
Salary: $65K-$85K/year. (DOE)
