National Director, Indigenous Partnerships Systems Quality Improvement
Our client is seeking a National Director, Indigenous Partnerships Systems Quality Improvement to join their organization.

This role is fully remote. Candidates must reside within either the Pacific, Mountain, or Alaska time zones. Candidates must be able to travel regularly to California, Alaska, or Arizona.

National Director, Indigenous Partnerships Systems Quality Improvement Responsibilities

  • Foster partnerships and design engagement strategies with tribal communities, ensuring healthcare quality improvement initiatives respect tribal sovereignty, traditions, and values.
  • Report to the Senior Director, Patient Safety and collaborate with Systemwide Quality Improvement (SQI) leaders to enhance health outcomes for American Indian and Alaska Native populations.
  • Supervise staff directly or through matrix management to ensure effective team performance.
  • Set strategic vision for tribal engagement, guiding recruitment, data acquisition, intervention design, and engagement methods.
  • Communicate vision to teams, track progress, and ensure targets are met.
  • Coordinate with internal and external leaders to align work with tribal community needs.
  • Act as key program spokesperson, presenting to senior executives, the Board of Directors, and external partners.
  • Ensure effective communication and delivery of contract goals, meeting client expectations.
  • Implement quality improvement processes internally and with teams.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on departmental goals in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Utilize CRM for project monitoring and participate in internal quality improvement activities.

Employee Engagement and Growth:

  • Set performance expectations and professional growth plans for direct reports.
  • Provide resources and opportunities for staff to perform effectively.

Business Development:

  • Leverage local partnerships to identify healthcare quality improvement opportunities.
  • Support strategic planning and proposal responses to diversify funding sources.

National Director, Indigenous Partnerships Systems Quality Improvement Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 8+ years in healthcare, with experience in quality improvement, administration, or clinical care.
  • 5+ years engaging directly with tribes or American Indian/Alaska Native populations.
  • 5 years in management.

Specialized Competencies:

  • Cultural Safety: Respect and understanding of American Indian/Alaska Native cultures.
  • Knowledge of tribal health systems, sovereignty, and federal/state relations.
  • Strategic understanding of healthcare delivery systems, with experience in healthcare improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills with tribal leaders and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and videoconference technology.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement theory, methods, and systems thinking in healthcare.

Salary: $125,000-$150,000/year. (DOE)
