Payroll Specialist
Our stable, family-owned client seeks an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team! The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detailed, and enjoys working with a small, close-knit group.

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days a week onsite in Portland, Oregon.

Payroll Specialist Responsibilities

  • Manage weekly payroll for three entities, including handling new hires, timesheet verification, and garnishments, while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, coordinating with field staff to maintain accurate employee records and timesheets.
  • Track labor expenses, costs, update reports, and assist with ad-hoc projects.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries, assist with benefits enrollment, and maintain up-to-date personnel files while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Stay updated on labor laws, prepare quarterly and annual tax reports (940/941), and manage workers’ compensation reporting and audits.

Payroll Specialist Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full cycle payroll processing experience.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems (ADP or similar) and MS Office Suite.
  • Prior implementation experience a plus.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking and mathematical skills.
  • Deadline-driven with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Salary: $75k-$80k (DOE)
