Senior PICK Programmer
Our client is seeking a Senior PICK Programmer to join their Information Technology team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions using the PICK development platform. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in PICK programming, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to support business operations.

This role is a hybrid model for candidates located in Portland, Oregon or Kansas City, Missouri.

Senior PICK Programmer Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing PICK programs in collaboration with system analysts and operators.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior PICK programmers.
• Develop and maintain integrations between departmental systems, ensuring smooth communication and data flow.
• Assess user requirements to design and implement new or enhanced systems.
• Ensure software solutions are delivered on time and meet performance expectations.
• Automate recurring system reports and fulfill ad-hoc reporting requests.
• Work with IT staff to streamline and automate manual processes.
• Innovate and develop creative solutions to mitigate project risks and enhance efficiency.
• Document software programs and systems to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing.
• Foster strong relationships between IT and other business units, providing technical support as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Senior PICK Programmer Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in PICK programming.
• Expertise in PICK BASIC, PICK database systems, and PICK TCL.
• Strong knowledge of jBASE.
• Familiarity with UNIX shell scripting.
• Experience working with EDI systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex issues and develop effective solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret business requirements, system documentation, and technical specifications.
• Self-motivated and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience producing technical documentation for programs and systems.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate on solutions with other PICK programmers.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with SQL to support integration with SQL-based systems.

Salary: $120k-$130k/year. (DOE)
