Technical Accounting Manager
Our client seeks a highly skilled and adaptable professional who is well-versed in technical accounting and SEC reporting to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure accurate and efficient financial reporting. Your expertise will help drive process improvements while ensuring compliance with regulations and U.S. GAAP standards.
Technical Accounting Manager Responsibilities
- Preparation of white papers documenting the research, analysis and conclusions on transactions falling under ASC 805, ASC 842, ASC 450 and ASC 718, with the ability to recognize instruments governed by ASC 815.
- Experience with bespoke, long-term and complex revenue contracts, documenting each step of ASC 606 and providing research, examples, analysis and conclusions in white papers.
- Prepare schedules for financial statements, footnotes, and Management’s discussion and analysis for SEC filings (10-Q/10-K).
- Review contracts for GAAP implications and document findings.
- Analyze large data sets to recommend journal entries and provide operational insights.
- Conduct quarterly fluctuation analysis of balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements.
- Support ongoing enhancement of SOX-compliant internal controls and processes, ensuring alignment with corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
Technical Accounting Manager Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Familiarity with corporate contract management from an accounting standpoint.
- 5+ years of professional experience, including 3+ years in a SOX-compliant accounting environment or public accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems (Dynamics SL, Oracle), and U.S. GAAP.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in cross-functional collaboration.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze data accurately and produce high-quality work.
Salary: $135k-$150k (DOE)
