Technical Writer
Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join their team. This role focuses on creating comprehensive technical documentation and requires expertise in technical writing and documentation using the Adobe Suite.
This role is a hybrid work model with the initial three months being fully onsite in Portland, Oregon.
Technical Writer Responsibilities
- Develop and edit technical documentation, including user manuals, service literature, operator manuals, and installation guides.
- Research, organize, and present complex technical data in a clear and accessible format.
- Design effective layouts and structures for technical documents, ensuring clarity and usability.
- Collaborate with technical teams and other departments to gather accurate data, drawings, and specifications.
- Create technical illustrations and artwork to support documentation as needed.
- Maintain corporate identity and design standards across all technical materials.
- Review and approve technical content to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Assist in digitizing workflows and improving documentation processes.
- Update company website technical content and other digital assets as required.
Technical Writer Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in creating technical support documentation, including writing and technical illustrations.
- Strong mechanical or technical aptitude.
- Basic understanding of electronics, hydraulics, programmable controllers, and engineering drawings/documentation.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of website and database integration; experience with automation is a plus.
- SolidEdge or equivalent solid modeling/drafting experience is preferred.
- Exceptional editing, proofreading, and time-management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Materials handling industry experience is preferred but not required.
Salary: $57k-$67k/year. (DOE)
